Settings Louis-Ulysse Chopard founded his own watch factory in 1860, in Sonvilier, and began yet another great Swiss watch company nestled in the Swiss Jura Mountains. Chopard loved jewelry, but Chopard watches acquired such a reputation for timekeeping that they became the main provider for the Swiss railway, renowned for its punctuality.
